LATEST NEWS

It is always eerie to hear someone’s last words right before their passing, but this interview with Reeva Steenkamp gives us a sense of where she was, and how she wanted to spread love and happiness to those she met, before her untimely death.

In her final hours the local beauty seemed happy and in love. Just hours after her interview with ZAlebs, the news broke that Reeva was shot dead by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius.

Do you remember your first crush did you ever have the courage to let the person know how you feel?

At varsity I had the biggest crush on a guy in my class. He turned out to be gay (another classmate broke the news to me) and is now one of my best friends.

Have you ever had a really bad dating experience?

I once had to get a restraining order against a guy. I went on one date with him and on the way home to drop me off, we had to “pop by his place to let the dogs out” as he’d forgotten. He didn’t own any pets and after I told him there wouldn’t be a second date, he moved back home with his parents because ‘his house smelled of my perfume’. psycho.

Your most romantic songs?

Dirty Dancing is one of my all-time favourite movies so several songs off the soundtrack come to mind:

•             Time of My Life (not the Black Eyed Peas version though!).

•             Unforgettable is another fabulous golden oldie (a classic love song)

•             My more recent ballade would have to be “See Beneath Your Beautiful” (it’s a song that has a lot of meaning to me).

•             Whitney Houston made beautiful love songs as well, like those off the Bodyguard soundtrack (reminds me of the 80s).

Reeva planned to spend Valentine’s Day spreading love to all she met. She was meant to be at Sandown High in the afternoon to speak to the children about learning to love and valuing yourself first before you can love others.

This beautiful soul’s message to ZAlebs, “I’ve realised that although Valentine’s Day can be a cheesy money making stint to most people, it’s a day of expressing love across the world. It doesn’t have to only be between lovers, but by telling a friend that you care, or even an old person that they are still appreciated.”

In memory of Reeva Steenkamp, let us spend Valentine’s Day spreading her message of love.

  1. It is seriously tragic what has happened to such a beatiful person. My thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this dfficult time.

  2. Is it possible that the crippled Oscar Pistorious killed her on purpose?

  3. From what i have seen on the media today about this tragedy, it seems like she was trying to surprise him and it all went terribly wrong.I cannot believe that he meant to hurt her at all, she was a lovely person and i’m sure he new he was a lucky guy. Her life is over but his nightmare has just begun. To be honest i feel for Oscar and no matter what happens, he will need to live with this for the rest of his life. I hope he will find the strenth somehow to overcome this when the dust settles. Kenny Gray U.K.

  4. My condolences with both parties. May our Father in heaven give them strength to get through this…my heart goes out to you all…Amanda – Kempton Park

  5. I cannot see that somebody who has shown so much courage, determination and self disciplin in phisical training, shoot another in cold blood. Something must have gone terribly wrong.

  6. For a man to off load 4 shots on a person that is no mistake. He knew what he was doing or the was drunk out of his mind. First of all she had to make a sound after the first shot call his name if it was a suprise. If the first shot was fatal shot why did he continue to shoot if his life was not in danger. You only continue shooting if your life is in danger when the person comes for you after the first shot.

  7. very sad that such a vibrant life was ceased so quickly… and so violently! R.I.P!

  8. Tragic…and shameful!

  9. Hopefully, the rest of his life will be very short. Killing an innocent girl deserves death penalty. He should have appreciated her love for a disabled person like him. John USA

  10. It is very sad to hear of anyone’s passing, but to die on the day of love and allegedly killed by your lover is unimaginable condolences to the family of Reeva and may her soul rest in peace.I also feel for Oscar and he must come clean and tell the truth for God to forgive him but if he did it on purpose he must pay for it.

  11. He shot her 4 times, that’s no mistake. He seriously needs help, may justice take its course!

  12. what went wrong it does not make sense, she had her own key it was not someone broke into the place he was in a complex security, why shoot before u look he must be punished. Why has the law not been more strick with people owing wepons
This is a mad world series.

  13. DONT JUST JUDGE, LEST YOU BE JUDGED

  14. Think for yourself, you wake up without noticing that your girlfriend is not by your side. You get your gun as you heard a noise behind the door. You hear it again, you shit yourself and shoot the door 4 time. For good measure you take a cricket bat with you just in case the noise is not dead. You look behind the door and see something move, you are so scared that you whack the noise and crush its scull.
All of a sudden you wake up and see its your girlfriend. BULLSH*T

  15. He’ll probably be sent for psychiatric tests and found “insane” or something… fact is 2 hrs before the shooting the security guards were called because of domestic violence… and her overnight bag was found too….

This is going to be another OJ Simpson court case or something similar..
